Love Out Loud Backpack Drive

“…Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:40

Society often sneers as they shuffle by, uncomfortably looking away from them…the hurt, the helpless, the homeless. Jesus lovingly reminds us how we treat the least of these among us is how we treat HIM. Surely, our desire is to honor our Savior through our actions. As Christ Followers, we cannot simply turn away. We must be compelled to act!

In a spirit of ministering to the least of these, CCA will “LOVE OUT LOUD” by collecting essential items by grade level to be given to the homeless. Please send in items with your child to be given to their homeroom teacher. Items in a backpack may be a simple gesture, but the idea that hope can emerge from something simple is found in this year’s Christmas play, “Soapy Smith’s Christmas Wish” Adapted by Thomas Hischak:
“Soapy was reminded that there were still such things as church hymns…And as he listened to the music, a tear came to his eye. The light from the stain-glassed window seemed to burn right through him and illuminated his damaged soul.”

May our simple gesture illuminate the damaged souls within our community, and may our love for Jesus be proven by our love for the least of these…
